Parental controls and age ratings for games

We’re aware that many children play video games at home on consoles, tablets, phones or laptops. Most systems have parental controls built in, and most games are rated using a system called PEGI which rates them as suitable for 3+, 7+, 12+, 16+ or 18+.

We’ve sent home a copy of a helpful parents sheet. There’s also more information at If you’ve ever got any concerns, feel free to pop in to speak to a member of staff.

Our Wish Wall in Nursery

To encourage pupil voice and the use of pupils own ideas in their learning, Nursery now has a Wish Wall. The idea being that you write down your child’s ‘wishes’ onto a star and then hang it on the wall.
Wishes can be anything from ‘I would like to have the train set out’ to ‘I would like to do finger painting’. Wishes can also include things such as ‘We are going on a family holiday to Paris, can we learn about France?’ or ‘I am getting a puppy, can we learn about them?’
